Calm before the storm on a Tuesday

COUGARS

FROM PULLMAN — It's about to be a busy week, but for now, we take a minimalist approach with our Pac-12 links. Because there aren't very many of them.

Yes, we do have plenty of WSU reading for you the rest of the week — another assistant football coach profile, a look at WSU's seniors playing their final home basketball game this weekend, Ken Bone's Pac-12 teleconference later today, his local conference call on Wednesday, and perhaps more — but the same can't be said for today, the Tuesday after Monday's Vince Grippi Non-Holiday. We do have a blog post with some details about WSU's game times for next week's trip to UCLA and USC, as well as a note about D.J. Shelton's citation from the Pullman Police over the weekend. … CougCenter takes a look at some 2013 football recruits. … Here's the podcast page where you can listen to Bill Moos' Cougar Calls segment from Monday. Moos recently returned from a trip to China, and discusses that — as well as new football parking priority and much more — in his most recent call. … We should note that WSU is hosting a Camp Out Beasley event on Friday night for the Washington game. In the past, this has been a frowned-upon (read: not allowed) activity. But Moos said during his Monday radio show that they've fought through the red tape and encourage students (and only students) to come and stay overnight outside the arena, starting at 5 p.m. Friday. Here are the details.

Around the Pac-12: California's Justin Cobbs is the Pac-12 Player of the Week. … Stanford lives and dies at the free throw line. … Arizona essentially has to win out to make the NCAA tournament now. … Arizona State is getting closer to improving its athletic facilities. … It appears Colorado is going to sell out its final two home games. … Two Huskies have a tough NBA decision to make at the end of the season. … The Oregon State cornerback arrested for DUI over the weekend has been suspended indefinitely. … It's a day old, but the Oregonian has a cool story about Roberto Nelson reuniting with his father. … Utah's football team will continue to focus on in-state recruiting. … Connor Wood is focused on winning Colorado's starting quarterback job. … Is UCLA even NIT worthy? The Orange County Register examines that question. … WSU ranks eighth in ESPN.com's conference power rankings.

OK, so there was more than I thought. Anyway, we'll be back later today with a summary of Ken Bone's segment on the Pac-12 coaches call.
