I support the right to arm bears.

Morrison needs to get a haircut and a shave. When I first looked at the picture I thought Vince had copied a picture of a bearded Ugly woman from a circus act. Given Morrison’s lack success in the NBA he might want to show that he is making changes….
Gotta love that Mariners support Felix against the Rangers and beat Yu Darvish…. Darvish is the real deal.

The Tour d France, and competitive cycling in general, makes the steroid era in baseball look tame by comparison.
rufus on A wide range for the morning on May 22 at 7:15 a.m.
Tour D France starts June 30th…
one of the great sporing events and greater still that is it shown live ( every day during the 21 day event) from France starting (usually) at 5.00am . . The old versus channel now nbcsports.com boardcasts the event.

Tommy:
I don’t believe it was behind Cougfan’s paywall this morning but is now. Sorry, nothing I can do for you except to say we at the S-R will be running the story on Wednesday morning. I can link it then.
TommyCoug on Solving a Palouse mystery on May 21 at 2:15 p.m.
Vince, I can’t get into the Cougfan item on Dale Ford. Anyway you can facilitate that for me or those of us that don’t have “an account” with them.
Strange…sometimes I can get it or get to read many of their items but, today I can’t…can you link or send the open version to me/us?
Thanks, TommyCoug
TommyCoug on Hironaka, Peters and some links on May 21 at 1:52 p.m.
Some folks hunt…some fish…some do neither…or both. It’s been going on since the beginning of time. Whether for a food source or trophies…
I don’t hunt…but, I am not going to judge a guy that does!!
GO COUGS!!…GO LEACH!!
kaddy on Solving a Palouse mystery on May 21 at 10:52 a.m.
Epic story on Dale Ford. Sad for the family he left behind - sounds like he deals with several demons. Would be nice to hear of a reconnection with his family and WSU, but I doubt that ever happens.
Northern_Kid2 on Solving a Palouse mystery on May 21 at 8:33 a.m.
Whoa! Interesting story on Dale Ford…. CougFan has been great about keeping up on Old Cougar greats….. Was sad to read the story on Steve Poudakis (spelled wrong!)…

Dear God, people. Get a grip. Leach isn’t gonna spend every waking moment in his office. What he chooses to do with his time is his business. If he wants to legally hunt a bear, let him hunt a damn bear and quit making moral judgements unless you have no skeletons in your closet, which is highly unlikely.
rufus on History in the making on May 20 at 9:54 a.m.
great game by the baseball team - never gave up - still some hope for the ncaa.( however faint )
OlyCoug on Hironaka, Peters and some links on May 19 at 10:58 p.m.
wishtheywould,
I’ve never understood why someone would want to shoot something for entertainment. Killing a magnificent creature like that now-dead seven-foot-tall, 350-pound bear for fun is akin to spitting on creation itself, in my opinion.
Why not prove your manhood by leaving the camo and high powered rifle at home and going into the forest to wrestle the wildlife with your bare hands instead? Let’s level the playing field out there and see who wins.
Speaking of playing fields, doesn’t Leach have anything better to do with his spare time? Given the woeful status of the WSU football program, I suspect he’s got enough game film to study to keep him out of the forest for a long time. At least let’s hope so…for the bears’ sake.
rufus on A nutty day in baseball on May 19 at 7:13 a.m.
what happened to the wsu baseball team? Pre-season ‘darlings” to the basement.

Okay. One of these days I’ll learn to read the fine print.
wishtheywould on Hironaka, Peters and some links on May 18 at 8:32 p.m.
Too bad about Hironaka. I was always intrigued with his sideline behavior. So energized, so involved. Agree that this is more about Bone and less about Hironaka. But Hironaka is paying the price. I won’t say more.
Could have gone all year without hearing about Leach shooting a bear. Now I’ve said it… I’ll try to move on. And just for the record… my husband hunts.
rufus on Cleveland maybe, but not Philadelphia on May 18 at 5:34 p.m.
M’s get rid of their veterans when they can trade them for $$$’s/ or not resign them…second rate ownership equals a second tier team.
mb126 on Cleveland maybe, but not Philadelphia on May 18 at 3:35 p.m.
Yeah, good point about the M’s needing more veterans. Somebody who can show the young guys how to play the right way. A Scott Spiezio type, or Milton Bradley, or Chone Figgins, or Richie Sexson, or Carlos Silva.
SpectreCoug on Cleveland maybe, but not Philadelphia on May 18 at 10:14 a.m.
That Johnny Damon angle is fool’s gold. The guy is way past his prime, and doesn’t help Cleveland win anything. If Seattle had signed him, and if he were hitting .170 (probable), the media would be killing Seattle’s GM for it. Rightfully so. The Indians players who are actually good are the ones winning games. Damon isn’t doing anything.
As far as wanting to live in Cleveland, this should straighten you out….

SpectreCoug on Links on a Thursday on May 17 at 10:17 a.m.
I happened to see that Craig James interview live. He’s staying on message, which means he’s still lying about the entire episode. The best part was when Chuck Todd caught him in a lie, and he admitted that he did hire the PR firm, about 15 seconds after he said he hadn’t hired one.
There is ZERO chance that Mizell will be welcomed back. He wasn’t thrown off the team because of the one arrest. It was a series of issues that got him tossed.
rufus on Links on a Thursday on May 17 at 7:04 a.m.
Have to “love” - Drew B>>> the best WSU QB .
Left the NFL , started a business, and giving back to his family and community.
Northern_Kid2 on Links on a Thursday on May 17 at 6:47 a.m.
Question: If CJ MIzell has been cleared of the charges filed in Feb. is there any chance of him coming back to WSU or was that a line in the sand drawn by Leach (translation: made an example) that won’t be revisited.

Interesting about Dunn…. Didn’t know he had left WSU. Thought he had a lot of upside. Guess he figured getting a college was important and going back to BB @ WWU was the way to get it.
