Spokane police arrest strangulation suspect
Spokane police arrested a man reported to be armed after the man allegedly strangled his live-in girlfriend.
Wayne S. Cooper, 28, was booked into jail on suspicion of second-degree assault, according to Sgt. Jason Hartman.
Today about 12:40 p.m., police responded to the 2600 block of East 4th Avenue for reports of a man with a 9mm handgun and contacted his girlfriend, who said he strangled her almost to the point of passing out, threw her into a vehicle, and fled with the weapon, Hartman said.
About half a dozen officers scoured the area, but one officer eventually reached Cooper on his phone and convinced him to surrender.
Cooper, who police say was hiding among houses in a busy area, was taken into custody without incident and no gun was found on him.

It’s nice more people are living after contact with spd. Seems like they have reevaluated their use of force.
